It's been recommended to me that I should include this page on my site. Personally I'd like to think much of it is common sense and would go without saying. But I've been advised that from a legal standpoint it needs to be included for my own protection.

(a) Trademark & Copyright Information

The Steamgauge™ logo and [S] ident are trademarks.

By entering this site or viewing my images located here or otherwise, you hereby agree to the terms shown on this page.

(b) Hotlinking

In an effort to prevent bandwidth theft, hotlinking of images hosted on this website has been disabled on all but a small number of websites. To link to a particular image, use a regular hyperlink to the image URL, this will display the image correctly, within a special page providing a link back to this site. Please do not attempt to circumvent the anti-hotlinking code in place on this site. If this practice is detected, your site will be denied access permanently.

If you have a legitimate reason for requiring hotlinking abilities, please email me and I'll see about allowing hotlinking to your site.

While copyright is very important to me as it is to all artists, I'm also aware that in a number of cases it's a bit over the top. So I freely grant permission for you to use my images in any way you wish providing it is in a private setting. The definition of this would be for example but not limited to: desktop wallpaper, mobile phone wallpaper, Operating System icons, Application skins, backup for viewing later, etc. which you do not intend to provide to others either freely or for profit. If the only person using them is you, then you're free to do what you like with them.

Search engines may include thumbnails of images for the purpose of search results e.g. Google Images, providing they link back here.

Permission is naturally given for including a small number of images for the purpose of illustrating articles or pages which promote myself and my site and include credit and a link to this site. However I ask that beyond resizing for thumbnail use or slight editing to better fit the look of your site, you do not overly edit or attempt to remove watermarks (f) in the images you've used. Also please email me if you do this because I'd love to read your article! :)

(d) Restrictions

You may not:

Repost my work except for the ways included in (c).
Claim my work as your own.
Use any of these images wholly or in part within other works or compilations.
Sell my work.
Mass download this site for offline browsing (e).
Attempt to remove the watermarks (f).
Circumventing the anti-hotlinking code (b).
Directly use or modify files contained here for your own site (g).

(e) Offline Browsing

Use of an offline achieving and retrieval program is prohibited and may result in you being blocked from accessing this website and your ISP contacted. The use of these applications and programs are often known to cause a dramatic increase in bandwidth usage and can serverly limit the quality of service for other users or prevent access entirely, depending on the severity it can result in a similar effect as a denial of service attack upon my hosting provider, Who in turn may take action against you. However some browsers and applications do "look ahead" during browsing, in an effort to give the impression of a faster service. This is acceptable if not abused.

If you would like to use one of my images for a reason not included here. Please email me and tell me what you have in mind as I may be able to help out by providing higher quality versions, depending on what your intentions are.

(f) Watermark

All artwork created by myself, available both on this website and elsewhere, contain both a visible copyright notice, and an invisible watermark embedded within the image itself for the purpose of tracking and identification. Site based image content contain only an invisible watermark. All image files contain extra metadata and copyright information. The removal of any of these will be considered a deliberate attempt at theft.

(g) Site Files

The style of this site is my own, and may not be used elsewhere. I worked hard to create a theme I liked and would greatly appreciate it if you didn't copy this layout or take the files to use yourself.

However, you can get idea's from it, that's only natural and I would be quite flattered in that case, but try not to make it too obvious.

(h) Supported Browsers

I have gone to great lengths to ensure this site works correctly when viewed by the most common browsers in use today. As such I currently support the following: Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2, Opera v9.7 and Safari 3.1.1 at a recommended minimum resolution of 1024x768. I cannot promise this site will work correctly within older browsers or those yet to be, or recently released or at resolutions below the recommended minimum. If you discover a bug, graphical error or typo while viewing this site, please use the email given at the bottom of the page to provide as much information as possible.

Please note that I may not be able to resolve bugs discovered at this time for browsers not currently listed here.
